Strategic Cooperation: AfWASA and HWP Strengthen Their Partnership to Promote Operational Excellence
On February 11, 2026, the African Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA) and the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) signed a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening technical cooperation between Africa and Hungary in the water and sanitation sector.
This agreement is part of a benchmarking mission organized by the AfWASA for the benefit of its member utilities, scheduled to take place in Budapest from February 23 to March 1, 2026. The study visit will enable African water operators to explore Hungarian best practices in service management, technological innovation, and performance optimization.
HWP will provide logistical and institutional support to facilitate the hosting and stay of participants, thereby ensuring high-quality technical exchanges and a structured professional dialogue.
Through this initiative, Dr. Kovacs Karoly, President of HWP, and Mr. François Olivier Gosso, Executive Director of AfWASA, reaffirm their shared commitment to knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the sustainable modernization of water services for the benefit of African communities.
