Signing of a Strategic Cooperation Agreement between AgroParisTech and AAEA at the 23rd International Congress in Yaoundé
On the occasion of the 23rd International Congress and Exhibition of the African Water and Sanitation Association (AAEA), held from 9 to 13 February 2026 at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé, Republic of Cameroon, AAEA and AgroParisTech officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on 11 February 2026.
This signing, which took place alongside this major continental event under the theme “Water and Sanitation for All: Bold Actions for Africa,” marks a decisive milestone in strengthening the institutional and human capacities of African water utilities.
The partnership is built on an ambitious multi-year vision aimed at supporting the transformation of human resources departments across the sector. It focuses on the development of specialized training programmes, the exchange of academic and operational expertise, the design of digital modules tailored to African realities, and the establishment of monitoring and evaluation tools based on measurable performance indicators.
Beyond training, the ambition is to establish a sustainable, impact-driven dynamic by promoting benchmarking among water utilities, anticipating intergenerational workforce challenges, optimizing competencies, and supporting organizational change management.
By combining AgroParisTech’s academic excellence with AAEA’s continental reach, this collaboration paves the way for a structured partnership dedicated to enhancing performance, governance, and resilience within Africa’s water services.
