In the face of growing demand for safe drinking water, increasing climate pressure, and the urgent need for sustainable infrastructure, the involvement of youth in the water sector has emerged as a game-changer. Young professionals — equipped with creativity, digital skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset — are spearheading technological innovations that can significantly enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and resilience of water distribution systems.

This 12th edition of the German-African technical exchange session “Ask the Experts” will highlight practical initiatives led by young professionals from both Africa and Germany. These initiatives range from digital network solutions and smart monitoring systems to collaborative models and the use of artificial intelligence in water resource management.

The objective is to showcase these contributions, foster connections with traditional water operators, and inspire stakeholders to fully integrate youth into strategic sectoral planning.
