AfWASA Engaged in Dakar to Position Water as a Strategic Lever for Global Post-2030 Action

AfWASA is participating in the High-Level Preparatory Meeting for the 2026 United Nations Water Conference, taking place in Dakar on 26–27 January 2026. This meeting is part of a broader momentum aimed at making Dakar a turning point for concrete action in support of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6). Discussions during the meeting highlighted the importance of strong African leadership, strengthened governance, innovative hybrid financing mechanisms, and increased inclusion of women and vulnerable communities. AfWASA fully supports the post-2030 commitments and the preparation of quantified actions for the 2026 UN Water Conference.
